Carbon Reduction Plan

New age Healthcare Solutions Ltd is fully committed to reducing its carbon footprint and embedding sustainability throughout its operations. Currently operating from a single office in Rugby, with plans to expand to other counties, our primary emission sources include electricity consumption, indirect emissions from employee commuting, and supply chain activities. Although our fleet emissions are currently zero due to no company vehicles, Scope 3 emissions from suppliers and travel will be monitored as we grow. We will establish a robust baseline carbon footprint using recognised tools such as The Carbon Trust’s SME Carbon Footprint Calculator, focusing initially on energy use and waste.
Our estimated baseline emissions are approximately 10 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent annually, primarily from electricity use and indirect activities. Our goal is to reduce total emissions by at least 30% by 2030 and to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, in alignment with industry and national targets. Over the next five years, we will implement a comprehensive carbon reduction plan with clear milestones.
In the first year (2025-2026), we will complete an accurate emissions baseline assessment, upgrade all office lighting to energy-efficient LEDs with occupancy sensors, and switch to 100% renewable electricity tariffs. We will launch an office-wide recycling programme targeting paper, plastics, and electronic waste, while promoting sustainable commuting options such as public transport, cycling, and walking. Employee sustainability training will commence to build awareness and responsibility.
In years two and three (2026-2028), we will introduce a paperless office system to reduce paper use and waste, alongside procurement policies prioritising local and environmentally responsible suppliers to reduce supply chain emissions. Sustainability criteria will be incorporated into lease negotiations and fit-out plans for new office locations to minimise their environmental impact. We will expand recycling efforts to additional waste streams and launch a formal green commuting incentive programme, including subsidised transport or cycle-to-work schemes. Opportunities for energy efficiency improvements such as smart thermostats and energy management systems will be assessed and implemented as appropriate. Ongoing staff training and engagement will ensure sustainability is embedded in daily operations.
By years four and five (2028-2030), we plan to invest in onsite renewable energy, such as solar panel installations, at our Rugby office and future facilities. We will explore carbon offsetting options for residual emissions that are not yet eliminated and further optimise waste management to maximise recycling and minimise landfill contributions. Sustainability initiatives will be standardised for all new office expansions. In the final year of this plan, a comprehensive review of emissions and progress toward the 30% reduction target will be conducted, alongside publication of an internal sustainability report detailing achievements and future goals. The plan will be updated with new targets to continue progress toward net-zero by 2050. Strengthening partnerships with local suppliers and community projects will also be prioritised to further reduce indirect emissions.
Throughout this five-year period, the Registered Manager will oversee implementation of the carbon reduction plan, supported by a designated Sustainability Champion responsible for coordination and employee engagement. Energy consumption and emissions will be monitored monthly, with quarterly internal reporting and an annual review following the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and government emission factors to ensure accuracy. Regular training and communication will foster a culture of environmental responsibility across the organisation, positioning New age Healthcare Solutions Ltd as a conscientious, forward-thinking leader in sustainable business practices.
